FAMILIES URGED TO WALK FOR HARMONY

State Member for Richmond, Richard Wynne today urged families from across the Richmond electorate to join forces in a Walk for Harmony to showcase and reaffirm Victoria’s cultural diversity and harmony in Melbourne on Sunday, 12 July.

Mr Wynne said the local community could play an integral part in the walk, to be led by Premier John Brumby through Melbourne’s CBD. Read more

A free version of an online legal handbook designed to help Victorians understand and exercise their legal rights was launched by Deputy Premier and Attorney-General Rob Hulls today.

Mr Hulls said the free online version of the Fitzroy Legal Services Law Handbook would ensure all Victorians had access to quality legal information and services via the Internet. Read more

IT’S TIME TO THINK TRAM IN NICHOLSON STREET

The Brumby Government plans to improve tram Route 96 in Nicholson Street, Melbourne’s second-busiest route on the metropolitan tram network with 13.1 million passenger trips a year.

Public Transport Minister Lynne Kosky and Roads and Ports Minister Tim Pallas today announced tram priority measures will be installed on Nicholson Street from Victoria Parade to Blyth Street in East Brunswick to increase tram speeds. Read more
