FIRST PASSENGER TRAINS ON NEW RAIL BRIDGE TODAY
State Member for Richmond, Richard Wynne, announced that the 60,000 passengers who travel on the Epping and Hurstbridge lines each weekday will benefit from improved punctuality and smoother journeys with the major works completed on the $52 million Clifton Hill rail project.
The project involved the construction of a new 750 metre long bridge between Clifton Hill and Westgarth stations which has doubled capacity through Clifton Hill and improved services for the 60,000 commuters who travel through this junction every weekday. Read more

SCHOOL STARTERS GET BONUS IN 2009
More than 125,000 Victorian families with a child starting Prep or Year 7 in 2009 will receive a financial boost to help with their child’s schooling thanks to the Brumby Government’s $182 million School Start Bonus initiative.
Families that have already received the Brumby Government’s $300 School Start Bonus in the form of a voucher can now redeem it for cash to help buy their child books, uniforms and other schooling essentials.
