CALL TO HELP SHAPE VICTORIA’S MULTICULTURAL FUTURE
Community members in the Richmond electorate from culturally diverse backgrounds are encouraged to share their views about multicultural affairs and Government services at a series of community consultations to be held in September.
Member for Richmond Richard Wynne said the sessions would provide a formal opportunity for members of Victoria’s ethnic and religious communities to comment on the Government’s performance in multicultural affairs.Â
$150,000 REFURBISHMENT HELPS PAVE PATH TO REHABILITATION
A $150,000 State Government refurbishment of Quin House in George Street means secure, high quality accommodation for the Fitzroy residential rehabilitation centre for men with drug and alcohol problems.
Member for Richmond, Richard Wynne, officially opened the newly refurbished space today, saying the improvements meant the successful support provided at Quin House can continue to make a real and lasting difference to local men recovering from drug and alcohol problems.
GRANTS NOW OPEN TO IMPROVE COMMUNITY SPORT FACILITIES
Local government and community organisations in the Richmond electorate are encouraged to apply for funding to improve community swimming pools, leisure centres and sport and recreation facilities.
Applications for the 2009-2010 round of the Community Facility Funding Program (CFFP) were officially opened today. The grants are designed to help local government develop new or upgrade existing minor and major facilities across Victoria and improve access for the community.
